Continuing with my report from the prev post.

This is my fav list pt.2 from the time I went to Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago.

Jaime Zollars

Some of the pictures seriously scare me but others I really like. Like those really tall mountains and the pink elephants.

The Bird Machine

Jay Ryan. Too famous to even explain who he is. I like the overall art style, especially the use of colors. I went to his show at Rotofugi in April (?) and I didn’t like what he was showing there, but I’d love to own his prints some day.

Drew Morrison

I’m usually not attracted to this type of art style because it’s scary :( But some of the pictures I saw at the booth really moved me. It’s hard to explain how I feel. Kind of like Pinky and the Brain. Ugly and cute at the same time. Funny and sad at the same time.

Mokuyobi Threads

Pop and fun.

Sweatertoys

Cute and cuddly like how a childhood should be!

The Little Friends of Printmaking

Consistently awesome and clever designs. Much to learn from their use of lines, shapes and colors.

Zooguu

These characters are your baby’s friends :)

Clinton Reno

Very good artist. I wonder he studied animation. Most kids I know who came from animation draw like that.

Nerfect by Mr. Walters

Something really awesome is happening amongst these characters. They make me excited about character designing. Also, I like him a lot because he gave me a sticker :)

Cakespy

Cakes with faces! Yup, that’s my kind of world!

Fernworks

I’m NOT into jewelry. At all. But she’s doing some pretty awesome things with tiny and interesting thingies and resin. They are like small and quiet worlds, still but alive.

Twig.

I can be good friends with people who “get” this. Tiny worlds of moss and people who are doing things. How trying to explain them makes them sound so boring…

The Prick Cushion

Felt penises :D ‘nuf said

Puffs of Doom

I almost don’t really care what the cream puffs taste like (I’m sure they taste sooo very good). The logo is f’ing awesome!!! And the name!!! I want that t-shirt the staff were wearing.

Mehoi

Cuteness in a simple style. Rice cooker ear studs? Want!

Hello Wars

Hello Kitty + Star Wars

What more do we really need? This has got to be the end…

I went to the Renegade Craft Fair Chicago 2011 in Wicker Park on Sep 10th. It was so much fun and inspirational with the coolest toys, clothing, jewelry, art and whatever else handmade.

Here is the list of my favorites from the fair:

Make Your Own Hipster Plush Bear by Let’sBeFriends

Hipster bears? Yes, please!

tee and toast

The cuteness overload! My art can totally be friends with these guys :) The owner/designer is very charming just like her lovely characters!

Mimi Kirchner

Dolls made with beautiful and unique fabrics. Some of the dolls have tats!

pinecone+chickadee

Simple yet refined art style

Arcane Arts

Beautiful colors. Makes me feel “free”. The art style reminds me of my good friend Thais Beltrame’s.

The Maple Ridge by Andrew Zangerle

These super-sculpey figurines are the bomb! There were more couples in various styles at the booth. They really moved me.

Robby Davis

Not pretentious and makes me feel good about being an artist. Reminds me that art is about liberating.

Diane Koss

I can’t be friends with anyone who doesn’t like the idea of walking around with cute monster horns and fur… AND there’s a bird perched on one of the horns! Aaaaagh! I can’t take this awesomeness! Must have one!

I will pick up to finish the list tomorrow (if not very soon)…

Turtle Rider
